Ahhh, Springtime In Missouri

I was born and raised here and, honestly, I love living here...most of the time.
Except when Spring rains lead to bugs.

We live in an old mining town whose heyday has come and gone, leaving behind plenty of history and apparently plenty of creepy crawlies too.
As I was getting ready for my craft show last week, I went out to our storage shed to grab a couple of tables. The moment I opened the roll-up door, I was hit in the head by a nest of ant eggs.

Nothing quite like stopping everything to scrub your head after brushing baby ants out of your hair. And with waist-length hair, let me assure you, it was an experience.
Thankfully, after a very long shower and a good laugh, inspiration struck.
What started as a miserable little springtime encounter has turned into a mission to research and refine an effective, natural system for reducing ants in and around our home.
Because if I’m going to battle bugs, I’d at least prefer to do it without turning my house into a chemical warfare zone.
Make sure you check back for updates on my progress.
From my hearth to yours, may you find the magic in the everyday…preferably without ants in your hair.
