From the Hearth: Easter at Home

Some seasons in life call for slowing down, and some ask us to keep several pots simmering at once.

This Easter seems to be one of those “all hands on deck” kind of seasons.

Between preparing for the online store launch, getting ready for upcoming craft shows, and the constant work of researching products, labels, and packaging, the to-do list never really seems to end. Some days it all feels exciting, and some days it feels heavier than I’d like to admit.

As I sat down to write this blog, my mind wandered to the Proverbs 31 woman and her household helpers, and I caught myself thinking how lovely it would be to have a few of those.

Then I looked at our Easter menu and had to laugh… it turns out, I already do.

This Easter, I find myself especially grateful for my modern-day kitchen servants quietly doing their work while I keep tending the dream that has lived in my heart for so long.

There is grace in being helped.

There is gratitude in not having to carry everything alone.

Our table this year will be filled with the comforts that make a holiday feel like home:

  • Crockpot glazed ham

  • Crockpot cheesy potatoes

  • Crockpot green bean casserole

  • Deviled eggs — because in this family they are always a must

  • Store-bought Hawaiian rolls, because sometimes convenience is its own blessing

The older I get, the more I realize holidays are not about perfection.

They are about presence.

The people gathered around the table. The familiar dishes everyone looks for. The laughter from the kitchen. The stories retold until they become part of the family fabric.

And this year, as spring begins to unfold around us, I’m reminded that growth often starts quietly.

A flower pushing through the soil.

A dream finally taking shape.

A domain finally transferred.

A shop that is beginning to feel real instead of someday.

For that, I am deeply grateful.

Sometimes gratitude doesn’t come naturally in the middle of a difficult day.

Sometimes we have to choose to look for it.

Sometimes our blessings are already sitting in the kitchen, quietly doing their work.

Today, I am thankful for family, for tradition, for a full table, and for the gentle reminder that new beginnings are often born in the middle of life’s messiest moments.

From our hearth to yours, I hope your Easter is filled with comfort, grace, and something new beginning to bloom.
