Organizing the Hearth: Storage Shelves

Updated: Apr 28

After being under the weather this week, it felt good to finally have the energy to tackle something that’s been on my list.

Okay, you all, I have to admit—I used to laugh every time I saw these snap-together shelves online.

They looked almost too simple to be useful.

But lately I’ve realized we simply do not have enough storage for all the ingredients and supplies we’re using right now. Between waxes, colorants, micas, wicks, molds, oils, and all the little pieces that come with creating in small batches, things were starting to live in boxes, tubs, and file cabinets.

And if I’m being honest, I was spending far too much time searching for what I needed instead of actually creating.

So these shelves have officially entered my life.

I ordered them from Amazon, and I have to say—I’m pleasantly surprised.

Once fully assembled, it holds far more than I expected.

Right now it’s filled with various waxes for candles and wax melts, colorants, micas, wicks, and molds, and it has already made finding what I need so much easier.

Honestly, after getting it put together and filled, I’m only sorry I didn’t do this sooner.

Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference in how smoothly the work flows.

This little storage win may not be glamorous, but it feels like one of those behind-the-scenes improvements that helps turn chaos into calm.

And around here, we love a little more calm.

From my worktable to yours,

Granny B
